WP21 Kick-off Meeting: Paving the Way for Multi-Modal Transport Integration

The scope of Work Package 21 (WP21) of FP1-MOTIONAL
project is to demonstrate the solutions for integrating rail with other
transport modes developed by the project in other related work packages.
The kick-off meeting for WP21 took place on
the 29th and 30th of January 2025, in Hannover, Germany. Hosted by HaCon and led by WP21 leader Marco
Ferreira from Siemens, the event brought together many European partners,
Hitachi RailWay, DB, GTSD, and Hacon, CFL, among others.
The engaging and fruitful discussions held
at this meeting focused on the planning, execution, and evaluation of the
upcoming demonstrations.
The solutions to be demonstrated in Work
package 21 aim to seamlessly integrate rail services with other transport modes
and include B2B intermodal services for journey planning,
reservation, ticket distribution, disruption management, financial services,
and data management.
The demonstrations will be held in various
locations across Europe including Madrid, Lodz, Luxembourg, Germany, Sweden,
France, and Italy.
